He subsequently specialized in Interventional Cardiology from Maimonides medical center in Brooklyn, New York.

Biography

Dr. Raghotham Patlola ("Raghu Patlola"), is an Interventional Cardiologist practicing in Lafayette, LA. He has been practicing in Acadiana since the year 2000.

Dr. Patlola also serves as a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at William Carey University School of Medicine. He is very active in training the next generation of Physicians who will proudly serve the patients of our great nation.

Dr. Patlola has trained and continues to train Cardiologists in the United States and also internationally including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and India.

He has published several articles (please see Curriculum Vitae), text book chapters and also a Text Book of Medicine which is under publication.

Dr. Patlola is a frequently invited speaker to the national and international cardiovascular conferences, including TCT, C3, CIT etc. For a brief period of time between 2015 – 2017, Dr. Patlola moved to Hattiesburg, MS. During this period, he started a new Cardiovascular Program at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. Here, he introduced the state-of-the-art advanced Cardiovascular Surgeries and procedures, trained several physicians and actively directed a Residency Training Program.

 

He moved back to his hometown Lafayette, LA in 2017, after repeated requests from his large patient following. While he was in Hattiesburg, MS all of his patients travelled all the way from Louisiana to Mississippi to see their dear physician and get appropriate care. Dr. Patlola, has several laurels to his accolade. While in training, he served as the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine Program at Long Island College Hospital, also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow at Maimonides Medical Center.

 

When he relocated to Lafayette, LA from New York – Dr. Patlola served as Chairman Department of Medicine, Chief of Cardiology and Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA. He hired and trained several cardiologists, who still practice today in Acadiana area.

 

Dr. Patlola is a major philanthropist – he strongly believes in giving back to the community he practices and lives. He is a major sponsor of all the community events in Acadiana. He also actively sponsors and associates with AHA (American Heart Association)

 

Dr. Patlola has done several FIM (First in man trials) for devices used in cardiovascular disease treatment. By the virtue of his efforts, scientific acumen and a sound medical knowledge, these devices were approved by FDA (Federal Drug Administration, USA) for commercial use.

 

Dr. Patlola is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology and Fellow American Society of Vascular Medicine. Every patient of Dr. Patlola has free access to him 24/7 via his personal cell phone number and also his home phone after hours, Holidays and weekends.
